What is the purpose of NQF accreditation?

The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) has useful information about the purpose of NQF accreditation and how it fits in with other quality assurance activities for private training establishments, government training establishments and Wānanga. The website of the Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics Quality (ITPQ) has information for polytechnics seeking accreditation.

We suggest you read this information carefully before putting your application together and contact those organisations if you have questions.

NQF accreditation is the process that evaluates whether your organisation has the capacity and capability to meet the industry requirements of the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP) 0222 for social services unit standards.

The final decision to grant accreditation rests with NZQA and ITPQ. These organisations require ITO support for the application so it is important that you involve them and us as early as possible to avoid delays.
