What is the step-by-step process?
When you are ready, send us documentation that shows how you meet the industry requirements of the AMAP. Usually this is the same information you send to NZQA or ITPQ.
We strongly recommend that you include evidence to support your application (eg minutes of stakeholder meetings, planning meetings and examples of delivery and assessment material at the level you are applying for).
Once the initial evaluation of your documents is completed, we will confirm whether a visit to your organisation is required. We can recommend a waiver of the site visit if you have a strong track record of performance in similar subject areas and at the level of the application.
Applications for accreditation in a new area of delivery will always involve a site visit. This is why it is important to keep us informed from an early stage. If a visit is required, we will liaise with you to arrange a panel and confirm the process and the agenda.
Once the criteria for accreditation are met, we write you a letter of support and provide a brief report that can be included in your application to NZQA or ITPQ.
Below is an overview of the step-by-step process.
| Step 1 | Applicant | Contact the ITO and discuss your plans |
| Step 2 | Applicant | Prepare the application (as described above) |
| Step 3 | Applicant | Complete the Self Assessment Workbook to identify where you meet the industry requirements of the AMAP and what you need to do to address any gaps |
| Step 4 | Applicant | Compile your application and align it to the AMAP. Wherever possible, include evidence to support each section. |
| Step 5 | Applicant | Send the application to the ITO |
| Step 6 | ITO | Evaluate the application and respond |
| Step 7 | ITO and applicant | Arrange and conduct visit if required |
| Step 8 | ITO | Decide whether or not to support the application |
| Step 9 | ITO | Write report and advise the applicant of the decision |
